About Nikhil

Hi, I’m Nikhil! I’m a first-year Mathematics PhD researcher at Imperial College London, having previously completed my Master’s in Mathematics (MMath) at the University of Warwick. My passion for math started early, achieving a Grade 9 at GCSE and 4 A*s at A-Level (including Mathematics and Further Mathematics), and it has only grown since.

I have been tutoring mathematics since my time in sixth form and at my local Kumon centre, and I’ve been teaching online on this platform since 2022. Outside of my research and teaching, I enjoy playing basketball and chess. As someone who is genuinely fascinated by mathematics, I take great pride in helping students discover the logic, clarity, and beauty behind the subject!

About the lesson

Since 2022, I have been providing structured, highly personalized online tutoring in Mathematics across Key Stage 3, GCSE, A-Level, and University levels. I focus strongly on deep conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization, helping students build problem-solving intuition that lasts.

Lesson Structure & Delivery
Every student learns differently, so I tailor each session to individual goals:

Concept Mastery: We break down complex topics into intuitive principles using visual aids and clear step-by-step guidance.

Targeted Practice: We work through carefully selected exam-style questions to build technique and confidence.

Independent Application: Students apply what they have learned to solidify their problem-solving skills.

Preparation & Progress Tracking
Before each lesson, I review exam board specifications and design relevant, challenging materials. I track progress through regular mini-assessments, active recall, and topic checklists, ensuring students meet both short-term milestones and long-term grade targets.

Encouraging Growth
I foster a patient, supportive space where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. By celebrating small wins and focusing on why formulas work, I help students develop exam resilience, confidence, and a genuine appreciation for mathematics.

Cancellation Policy

24-Hour Notice: Lessons can be rescheduled or cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time.

Late Cancellations & No-Shows: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed sessions, may be charged at the full lesson rate as this time is reserved specifically for you and cannot easily be rebooked.

Emergencies & Illness: I understand that genuine emergencies and sudden illnesses happen. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis, and I am always happy to try to find a make-up slot where possible.
