About Alina

As a native English speaker and Geophysics graduate at Imperial College London (ranked in the global top 10), I bring deep subject knowledge, energy, and professionalism to every lesson. I hold an A* in A-Level Geography (Edexcel) and achieved 96% in GCSE Geography — consistently top of a class of 40. My knowledge of all major UK exam boards is up to date and exam-focused, and I know exactly what the examiners are looking for.

I tutor Geography up to A Level, covering a wide range of topics including physical and human geography, fieldwork, GIS, and case studies. If you’re unsure whether I cover a specific topic, just ask — chances are, I do.

Alongside Geography, I also tutor Maths, Chemistry, and Physics (up to A Level), Biology for 13+, and Python for GCSE Computer Science.

About the lesson

With over 3 years of experience tutoring Geography, I’ve helped students across multiple exam boards develop a deeper understanding of the subject and achieve top grades. I specialise in Physical Geography, with particular expertise in rivers, coasts, glaciation, the carbon and water cycles, and tectonics. That said, I cover the entire A-Level Geography specification (Edexcel), including both core and optional topics.

My lessons are ideal for students aiming to move from a B to an A, or from an A to an A*. I teach not only content but also exam technique, focusing on how to structure longer answers, evaluate case studies effectively, and meet the specific demands of mark schemes. I also introduce higher-impact case studies that go beyond typical textbook examples, helping students stand out in the exam.

I teach all exam boards at GCSE and IGCSE, and Edexcel at A-Level, covering optional topics such as Coastal Landscapes, Regeneration, Changing Places (MIS), and the Water Cycle.

Lessons are usually 1 hour, but I’m flexible and happy to adjust session length to suit the student’s pace and goals.

Details

My standard rate starts from £60 per hour for online lessons. Rates may vary depending on the subject, level of difficulty, and scheduling requirements. I offer discounts for lessons booked in pairs or in blocks, as well as referral-based discounts for families who recommend me to others.

I am happy to mark homework or practice papers outside of lesson time, but please note that this is charged separately. The marking fee ranges from £1 to £5 depending on the length and complexity of the work. This allows me to provide detailed, constructive feedback while keeping lessons focused and efficient.

While I can occasionally travel to students' homes in the London area (particularly Kensington, Chelsea, and Fulham), I strongly prefer online tutoring due to the flexibility it offers — especially for international students and those with busy schedules.
