About Bill
I am an experienced English teacher with over 17 years of teaching experience in Asia and the Middle East. During this time I have taught in Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia, working with students from a wide range of backgrounds.
I hold a CELTA qualification and a Master’s degree in TESOL and Applied Linguistics, and I have taught in universities, high schools, and language schools.
Much of my work has focused on helping students improve their IELTS Speaking and Writing, particularly students aiming to reach Band 6 or higher.
I enjoy working with motivated students and helping them build the confidence and language skills they need to achieve their academic and professional goals.

My lessons focus on improving IELTS Speaking and Writing, the two parts of the test where personalised feedback and expert guidance can make the biggest difference.
I have over 17 years of experience teaching English internationally, including IELTS preparation and academic English. I hold a Master’s degree in TESOL and Applied Linguistics, and I specialise in helping students develop the skills needed to achieve higher band scores.
Much of my experience has been working with students currently at Band 3–6, helping them build the vocabulary, grammar, and confidence needed to reach Band 6 or higher.
In Speaking lessons, we practise real IELTS-style questions from Parts 1, 2, and 3. I help students improve fluency, vocabulary, and coherence while giving detailed feedback on pronunciation, grammar, and how to develop stronger answers.
In Writing lessons, we focus on Task 1 and Task 2 (Academic or General Training). I show students how to structure essays clearly, develop strong arguments, and avoid the common mistakes that lower band scores.
Lessons are practical and personalised. Students receive detailed feedback and clear strategies to help them improve quickly and reach their target band score.
I also work with students who want to improve general English speaking and writing skills for study, work, or everyday communication.
IELTS essay correction with detailed feedback is available for students who want to practise writing between lessons.
