About Mike

I am an IELTS, Cambridge and EAP teacher based in Sydney, Australia. I have been working as a TSOL teacher for over 12 years, and my main aim is to get the highest possible results within the shortest amount of time. I also like teaching General English and Business English. I have a deep passion for grammar, and I love to see my students writing and speaking flawlessly.

About the lesson

My primary teaching method is focused on language development, vocabulary and grammar. I am aiming to train my students in paraphrasing techniques, as the IELTS test (but not only) is fundamentally based on paraphrasing. I carefully correct my students' writing and provide extensive feedback. I like working on speaking skills, mainly on fluency and coherence.

It is really satisfying as he gives real-life examples which helps me learn better, and the notes which he provides really help me to understand the chapter properly. And the best part is that he makes it a friendly environment which in turn makes the students feel comfortable to ask any question without hesitating.Very highly recommend!!

Mike is hands down the best English teacher I've ever had the pleasure being taught by. His knowledge is profound and teaching methods are most effective. Students that moved to different classes for various reasons quickly realized how special Mike's approach is and soon most of them came back. In fact, never have I seen so many students asking for a transfer, than when Mike was sent to teach an IELTS preparation class. I suppose it's because teaching is his true passion. However, if there's one thing he's not exactly fond of, it's wasting time. So, in case you sign up to study with Mike, I can assure you, he definitelly won't waste yours.
