About Nirwan

I am originally from Nepal, where I developed a strong command of English as a second language with native fluency; ultimately scoring Band 8 in the IELTS exam. That experience of learning English from the ground up is what drives me to teach it. I know what it feels like to struggle with structure, to search for the right words, and to slowly find your voice in a language that is not your own. That journey gives me a perspective that native English speakers simply do not have.

I am drawn to tutoring because I believe that with the right guidance, every student can communicate clearly and confidently in English. My background in psychology means I am passionate about how people learn; not just what they learn; and I bring that awareness into every session.

I am patient, thorough, and invested in real progress. I will not just mark your work. I will make sure you understand why, and I will make sure you leave each session better than you arrived.

About the lesson

I'm a Psychology student with an IELTS Band 8 score, offering personalised one-on-one tutoring in English writing, essay writing, and creative writing for students from primary school through to university level.

Having learned English as a second language myself, I understand exactly where students get stuck and how to bridge that gap. I don't just correct mistakes — I explain the reasoning behind them so students genuinely improve over time.

What I teach:
English writing fundamentals, essay structure and academic writing, creative and narrative writing, grammar and vocabulary, IELTS writing preparation, and school assignment support.

My approach:
Sessions run 60 minutes and are tailored to each student's immediate needs. I adjust my teaching style to how each student processes and retains information — understanding over memorisation.

Who this is for:
Primary and high school students, international students preparing for IELTS, university students struggling with academic essays, and anyone wanting to improve their everyday English writing.

Available in person in Campsie or online via Zoom. Flexible scheduling across weekdays and weekends. First session at a discounted rate; no commitment required.
