About Mika

I am from Newcastle, am also a ski instructor (currently instructing in Switzerland - hence the Swiss phone number). I love travelling, writing my own book and I managed to find amazing meanings in English texts like “The Crucible” or “Hamlet” and love debating my thesis choices. I really get what school is like - I’ve been there, believe me! I really want to reveal why these authors or artists made what they did. I want you to understand - when you have already got your ATAR - why there was a point to HSC English - and it’s not just to get into uni. And if you’re a little younger or English is your second language, I‘ve got your back too! I’ve taught English in Bhutan for 3 months to students between 4 and 18 and I have all the tricks and tips to get you talking and writing with confidence!

About the lesson

What you will receive: A love for thinking creatively, analytically and critically. Why what you study has anything to do with real life. Exam strategies and help in all aspects of each subject. Motivation and survival skills. Quote songs! Accomplishment :)

Perfect! Mika helped me so much in Year 12 Advanced English. Even when I reached out on short notice, she was incredibly patient and worked extremely hard to help me improve my drafts. She consistently provided detailed, thoughtful feedback, often within a very short amount of time and always made sure I fully understood her comments before moving on to the next topic.
She has a thorough understanding of all the modules and explains clearly what each one is asking for. She also helped me understand the different styles of questions and how to approach them, which improved my grades immensely. She is so patient, dedicated, and genuinely wanted me to succeed. I cannot recommend her enough.

I’ve spoken to Mika a decent amount, even if it wasn’t about anything important, she was a great listener and speaker. After being in the same Chemistry class, and maybe another (I forget if we did) I can say with confidence that Mika is an Excellent person to be a teacher, she’s just got that teacher vibe to her, I can imagine Her being kind and sweet to her students. Mika is definitely a trustworthy person and would be as a teacher. I’m glad to call her a Friend. I don’t have much experience with Superprof (never heard of it) but I can say that Mika (not Mike silly autocorrect) is highly recommended by me as a teacher. :)
