About Sahana

Hi! My name is Sahana, and I’m a dedicated and friendly high school student from Ontario with a strong passion for helping younger students succeed in math. I’ve consistently achieved top grades in math and have experience working with children in both academic and peer support settings.

I understand that math can sometimes feel confusing or stressful — that’s why I focus on making it clear, simple, and even fun. I create a positive learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and build confidence at their own pace.

As a tutor, I’m patient, organized, and genuinely committed to helping students grow. Whether your child needs help catching up, preparing for a test, or just wants to strengthen their math skills, I’ll be there to support them every step of the way.

About the lesson

As a math tutor, I believe in breaking down concepts step by step to make them easier to understand and less overwhelming. I tutor elementary school students (Grades 1–6) and focus on building a strong foundation in basic math skills like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and word problems.

Each lesson starts with a quick warm-up or review, followed by a focused lesson using examples and guided practice. I use visual methods, real-life situations, and simple explanations to help the student connect with the material. I also encourage students to ask questions and explain their thinking, which helps them gain confidence and independence.

What sets me apart is that I’m a high-achieving Ontario high school student, so I relate easily to younger learners and know how to explain math in a calm, friendly way. My sessions are supportive, encouraging, and customized for each student’s pace and learning style.

These lessons are ideal for students in Grades 1–6 who need extra support in math or want to get ahead.
