Hi, I’m Kerrie — a dedicated and approachable Mandarin tutor with a Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language and Literature from the University of Florida. I studied abroad at Tsinghua University, one of China’s top institutions, and spent over seven years living in Hong Kong, where I used Mandarin and Cantonese in everyday life. My background blends academic excellence with real-world fluency, giving me a unique perspective as a tutor. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to improve your accent and confidence in speaking, I’m here to guide you with patience, clarity, and encouragement. I specialize in working with complete beginners and those who want to improve their accent or speaking fluency.

I like to tailor lessons to each student’s goals, whether you're learning for travel, personal interest, or academic support. We’ll use real-life scenarios, repetition exercises, and listening games to make the language stick.

What sets me apart is my immersion experience. I earned my degree in Mandarin (cum laude) from the University of Florida, studied abroad at Tsinghua University—one of China's most prestigious schools—and spent over seven years living in Hong Kong. This blend of formal education and real-world use helps me bridge the gap between textbook Mandarin and everyday speech.

These lessons are ideal for adult beginners, high school students starting Mandarin, or anyone who wants to focus on accent and speaking skills in a relaxed, supportive environment. I offer in-person tutoring in Naples Florida.
