About Erin

I am an Australian pianist and singer originally from Melbourne. After finishing my studies at Sciences Po in Paris, I decided to settle in France. I now live in Lyon.

I studied music theory and composition at the University of Melbourne and now my passions have turned to jazz and songwriting.

Music has had something to offer me at every stage of my life so far and I look forward to passing this sense of curiosity and wonder to my students.

I am open to all ages and abilities. From teaching a toddler their first song, to the magic of helping a retiree rekindle their passion for the piano, every day is a new opportunity to connect and inspire.

I am comfortable speaking French in our classes, but for Anglophones or those who may wish to practice their English at the same time as learning music, we can also speak English.

About the lesson

I teach piano, vocals, music theory and composition .... or a little bit of everything depending on your needs. For pianists who are motivated by the challenge of exams, I have a lot of experience guiding my students to succeed within the ABRSM system.

My pedagogical approach is based on three core values: experience, versatility and empathy.

Experience
I've been playing the piano for 16 years and I've been teaching piano for 6 years. I studied music theory and composition at the University of Melbourne.

Versatility
I am equally comfortable teaching classical music, pop, jazz or rock. My approach is holistic, and I can mix piano with singing, composition, and music theory to help you achieve your musical goals.

Empathy
All my lessons are customised to your individual needs. I have taught students of all ages and abilities - from 4 years of age all the way up to 84!

Perfect! Erin est très pédagogue et à l'écoute. Elle adapte très bien ses cours en fonction de mon niveau et mes attentes, le tout dans une ambiance très fun.

Perfect! Erin est une prof exceptionelle!!! Après trois cours je me sens dejà beaucoup améilorée!!! Apprendre à jouer le jazz c'est très amusant avec elle! Elle a aussi une manière simple de me faire comprendre et connetre la théorie! Pas si facile pour qui commence a jouer quand n'est pas plus petit! Je suis sure je vais apprendre et m'amuser beaucoup! Since we have been directed to work from home as much a possible, I am only teaching online at this time. I am excited to return to face-to-face lessons as soon as it's safe.

I offer two rates: an off-peak rate of 35€/h between 11am and 4pm and an on-peak rate of 40€/h after 4pm
