About María Emilia
My journey as a teacher started in 2012 and it has been very enriching! I have a lot of experience teaching in-person classes and over a year ago I started teaching online, allowing me to meet lovely people along the way. I have lived abroad, taught and learned languages myself so I know first-hand the difficulties and the challenges of learning a new language. I believe I have the patience and passion to help my students.

The lessons are adapted to student's needs but I do work with a material and a method of my own, based on my experience acquired in 7 years. Conversation is the main focus of my lessons! The method in the first levels requires a lot of imitation and repetition, it is conversational and dynamic, (the more people speak in class, the better it is for them, so I encourage my students to ask me questions, make full sentences, focus on speaking and not get caught up in small details). Grammar is taught in context (dialogues) but sometimes it requires further explanation and that is OK! The method encourages you to think in the language being learned (we avoid translation as much as we can) and the material covers all kinds of needs and topics of conversation .
