About Rufus

I am a holder of BSc Physics/Electronics, MSc Physics/Applied Geophysics, PhD Physics/Applied Geophysics and PGCE with QTS (in view - to graduate in June 2025). I have over 18 years teaching and research experience. I have taught both in the secondary school and university, and I am currently teaching Physics and Applied Science at Franklin College, Grimsby, Lincolnshire, UK. In fact, about 90% of my work-life has been committed to teaching and impacting the young ones since I first graduated from my undergraduate degree programme in the year 2000. I strongly believe that I have the relevant experience to teach and help students achieve their dreams.

About the lesson

My pedagogical approach/teaching strategy is based on the Rosenshine's 10 principles of instruction and adapted for all-inclusive learning. It's basically the ''I do, we do, you do, plenary'' approach that stimulates interest and allows all my students to learn at their pace. My teaching strategy is a critically reflective one that builds the learner and helps him achieve the necessary competence to handle tasks independently. My formative and summative assessment and feedback mechanism is tailored to provide the necessary platform that allows me to interact with my students, address their needs and achieve learning outcomes. Also, I have sound subject and curriculum knowledge that reflects in the quality of teaching I offer my learners in addition to the self-motivation, relatedness/friendliness, ambition and hard work I bring to bear on the quality of my lessons.
