About Akiko

I am a native Japanese speaker, born in Kobe and raised in Tokyo, so I can speak both standard Japanese and the Kansai dialect.

As someone who has also learned a second language, I understand the challenges of language learning and know effective strategies to help students improve their Japanese more efficiently.

I hold a Master's degree from a UK university, which has given me valuable experience studying in an international environment. I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and helping students achieve their language goals with confidence.

About the lesson

Hello! I'm a native Japanese tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience. I have taught students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners. I also hold a Master's degree from a UK university and can explain Japanese clearly in English, making lessons enjoyable and easy to understand for English speakers.

My lessons are personalised to your goals and learning style. Whether you're preparing for the JLPT, planning a trip to Japan, improving your conversation skills, learning Business Japanese, or simply exploring Japanese culture, I'll create lessons that are practical, engaging, and tailored to your needs.

I believe language learning should be fun, interactive, and confidence-building. My lessons focus on real communication while developing a strong foundation in grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and natural expressions. You'll have plenty of opportunities to speak Japanese in a relaxed and supportive environment where questions are always welcome.

I currently teach students in the UK online and would love to help you achieve your Japanese language goals. Beginners are always welcome, and I look forward to supporting you on your Japanese learning journey!
