About Kristin
I graduated from Michigan State University majoring in History and minoring in Law, Justice, and Public Policy. During my undergraduate career, I conducted extensive research on United States History, European Imperialism and Decolonization, and 20th century nationalism and culture.
I have worked as a tour guide in Washington D.C and Gettysburg, P.A and I enjoy bringing history alive by making it perisonalble, engaging, and rememberable.

History is not meant to collect dust on old bookshelves! It teaches us about who we are, where we come from, and what is going on in this crazy world.
Having worked in Public History, I like to teach history like an epic story that draws you in and inspires original thought. We are not blandly reciting dates and bios to cram useless trivia facts into our short term memory. But rather, we relate the past to our present and come understand the people, places, and events not as distant stories, but as relevant to the build up to where we are today.
My lessons are for Middle, High, and College level history courses.
