About Aaron

I have a passion for teaching and deep and broad knowledge of history and historical study and research. I have extensive experience teaching History at university level, on topics ranging from British History and US History to Global History, from Ancient History to Contemporary History, and from social and cultural history to political, economic, diplomatic and media history. I am also a published academic historian, having produced articles and book chapters on Modern British History, Political History and Media History.

I will provide fun, engaging, supportive, and instructive sessions and teaching materials on any historical topic or any aspect of media studies for any level of study. We will get to grips with the syllabus topics in an enjoyable, illuminating manner for those studying at school or college, and I will help those studying at university-level to develop the skills needed for independent study and research. I excel at improving the confidence of my students, and combine a focus on both exam/coursework content and study technique to ensure that my students are best placed to achieve their goals.

I taught university History modules from 2015-2021 while working on my PhD thesis. These included modules for levels 1-3 and MA level. In particular, I have taught many first-year modules which have focused on transitioning students from A-Level study to undergraduate study and I thus have a deep familiarity with teaching methods and subjects at both levels.
