About Dr P Saeed

Hi,

A highly qualified teacher with PGCE, BSc, MSc & PhD with over 20 years of teaching experience in general sciences, GCSE/A-Level Chemistry and GCSE Physics . I have a wealth of experience teaching pupils with varying abilities. I utilise the direct instruction teaching method through practice, memory recall and specialised bespoke learning material to ensure my students achieve the highest possible success. Feedback to both parents and students is a crucial element ensuring success. Realistic weekly targets are set where work is checked and feedback given ensuring learning is maintained at the highest standards.

I have a relaxed approach to teaching where I get to know students. Having a good sense of humour helps break down any barriers or nervousness that students may have. I work at a pace where students are happy, comfortable and feel relaxed. This will ensure good communication where students do not shy away or feel reluctant to ask questions or for further support. About the lesson

My approach is simple, after short spells of teaching I do quizzing to ensure we are secure with learning. I incorporate retrieval practice which ensures topics which we have studied previously are not forgotten. Interleaved with this is plenty of past paper practice with feedback.

Homework will be given regularly ensuring students are not forgetting and to push them to a higher level with extension questions. Along with this I will post other resources which include videos so students are absolutely secure with their learning.

A tick list of topics will be provided at the beginning along with an assessment chart so students/parents are able to monitor progress. Along with this, a feedback form will be emailed to both students and parents on a regular basis helping to ensure you are getting the best out of all sessions.
