About Allie
Hi! I'm Allie, I'm a home-schooled senior in high school and I've been home-schooled since my sophomore year! I dream of becoming a history teacher and have always loved history. I already spend about 4 hours a day researching history (usually the silly parts of history) but would love to devote that time to actually helping people understand more about the subject! I'm totally open to working with ADHD kids because I was also an ADHD kid struggling to make it through school, so I know how it feels to be in that position.

I like to look over the textbook first, then look at the big picture of the world at the time (I know that makes very little sense but stick with me.)
For example, with a World War 1 lesson, I would look over the war itself and see what's in the textbook, then explain the big picture of the world in 1914, which means the rising tensions between Austria-Hungary and Serbia, as well as the tensions within Austria Hungary itself at the time. I feel like seeing the bigger picture always help get a better understanding of history. After talking about the rising tensions within those countries, next on the agenda would be the 'final blow' as I like to call it, which was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand; from there it would mainly be how the war effected governments and policies (the boring stuff that people usually struggle with, but I try to make it entertaining.)
I think I would probably work best with Elementary and Middle school. I'm okay working with ADHD kids, as I was an unmedicated ADHD kid so it really doesn't bother me. I'm a senior in high school and History has always been my best subject so even though I'm still in high school, I promise I know this stuff!
