About Maggie

As an ESL tutor, I promise to communicate clearly with students, both verbally and non-verbally in order to establish a positive learning environment and build trust, along with confidence.

Since I take my role as a tutor very seriously, I promise to plan lessons ahead of time and arrive prepared with any materials students may need.

I promise to provide support and encouragement to students throughout the learning process.

About the lesson

Teaching Methodology and Techniques:
- Use a variety of teaching techniques, including visual aids, group work, and hands-on activities to engage students and make the lessons more interesting

- Incorporate authentic materials such as newspapers, magazines, and videos into your lessons to expose students to real-life English usage.

- Provide ample opportunities for students to practice their English skills in a supportive environment, and give feedback to help them improve.

A Typical Lesson Plan:
- Begin with a warm-up activity that gets students thinking in English and helps them review material from previous lessons.

- Introduce new vocabulary and grammar concepts through a variety of teaching techniques.

- Provide opportunities for students to practice the new concepts through speaking, writing, and reading activities.

- Review the material covered in the lesson and provide feedback on areas where students need improvement.

- Assign homework that reinforces the concepts covered in the lesson.

What sets me apart as a tutor:
I understand what it is like to learn English as a second language. I even went to an ESL class in elementary school. I promise to always try my best to teach students what they need in order to succeed in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English.

Target Audience:
- I am looking to teach students who are new to the English language, or students who would like to improve their proficiency in English.

- I will take into account any special needs or accommodations that students may require, such as visual aids for students with hearing impairments or extra time for students with learning disabilities.

- I am prepared to adapt my lessons to meet the needs of students with different levels of English proficiency, and to provide additional support for students who are struggling.
