About Kurt

Hi, I’m Kurt. A Melbourne based tutor with a background in chemical engineering and strong academic experience in math, chemistry, and physics.

I enjoy helping students build confidence and improve their understanding in subjects that can often feel overwhelming. I’m patient, clear in my explanations, and focused on creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

I have a structured and practical approach to problem solving, which I bring into my tutoring to help students break down difficult questions and think more clearly.

I understand that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my approach to suit each student’s pace and needs. My goal is to help students feel more confident, reduce stress around exams, and improve their overall performance.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured around improving exam performance and building confidence in problem solving. I focus on helping students understand how to approach exam style questions, structure their working clearly, and avoid common mistakes that cost marks.

A typical lesson begins by identifying the student’s current areas of difficulty or upcoming test/exam topics. We then work through exam style questions step-by-step, focusing on both the method and the reasoning behind each step.

I use clear explanations and a structured approach to break down complex problems into simple, manageable steps. Where needed, I reinforce key concepts before applying them to questions.

Lessons are tailored to each student, whether they need help catching up on topics, preparing for assessments, or improving their exam technique.

Sessions are typically 60 minutes, with the option for longer sessions if needed.
