About Jyothika

Hi, I'm Jyothika, a second-year Bachelor of Cybersecurity student at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) with consistently strong academic results, including High Distinctions across my subjects. As someone who has recently learned many of these concepts myself, I understand the challenges students face when starting their coding journey and know how to explain difficult topics in a simple, relatable way.

I believe the best way to learn programming is by understanding *why* the code works, not just memorizing solutions. My lessons are interactive, encouraging students to ask questions, think critically, and build confidence through hands-on practice. I tailor every lesson to the student's learning style, whether they need help catching up in class, preparing for exams, completing assignments, or getting ahead.

A typical lesson runs for 60 minutes and includes concept explanations, guided coding exercises, problem-solving practice, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions. I strive to create a supportive and relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, because that's an important part of learning to code.

I teach beginner Python, Java, HTML, CSS, programming fundamentals, and introductory cybersecurity concepts. My lessons are suitable for high school students, complete beginners, and first-year university students looking for extra support with programming or computer science subjects.

Outside of tutoring, I'm passionate about technology, cybersecurity, and continuous learning. My goal is not only to help students achieve better grades but also to help them develop the confidence and problem-solving skills that will benefit them throughout their studies and future careers.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to make coding feel simple, practical, and enjoyable. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style based on your current skill level, goals, and learning pace. Whether you are completely new to programming or looking to strengthen your existing skills, I will guide you step by step and help you build confidence.

Instead of focusing on memorizing code, I focus on helping students understand the logic and problem-solving skills behind programming. You will learn how to approach problems, write cleaner code, identify mistakes, and develop the confidence to solve challenges independently.

A typical 60-minute lesson includes:

* Reviewing previous concepts and addressing any questions
* Introducing new topics with clear explanations and practical examples
* Working through coding problems together
* Applying concepts through hands-on exercises
* Debugging and improving code to understand common mistakes
* Summarizing key ideas and providing guidance for further practice

I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because experimentation is one of the most important parts of learning to code.

My lessons are suitable for high school students, beginners, and first-year university students who want to improve their programming skills in Python, Java, HTML, CSS, and introductory cybersecurity.
