About Daniel
I am a Theoretical Astrophysics mentee at UWA whose past professional experience has been in various teaching and leadership positions. I have had various roles in leadership and teaching positions where I've learnt how to more effectively adapt to my students to not only achieve greater knowledge, but also a good relationship.
My teaching philosophy is that there are no such things as "hard" subjects- rather, there are good teachers and bad teachers for a particular student. I aim to make challenging material more engaging and understandable so that my students are left with actual relevant passion and skills along with a nice grade to help them pursue their future goals.
I've worked with many different types of students and accept many more- from Year 3 to those only weeks away from ATAR exams; students with learning and attention disabilities; queer folks, shy folks, etc. I will help anyone out there gain the passion and skills to pursue knowledge, creativity, and whatever is next for them.

I aim to help out students who don't understand concepts in STEM or wish to have a better understanding of a certain unit. I usually ask them for what topics they're having the most difficulty with and then follow up by giving them a basic understanding of how to solve the problem at hand, followed by a more in-depth understanding of how this solution works and how they can apply it themselves. I typically take this opportunity to encourage students to ask questions, especially "dumb" questions as those can have the most profound answers! This way the student can try and find their own natural interest in the subject rather than being told to be interested in it.
I tend to finish off a lesson by throwing them at the deep end with unconventional questions to not only force them to get rid of doubt within their own answers but to also apply what they have learned in an uncomfortable situation.
Additionally: I noticed this site can be a bit dodgy about sending and receiving payments, so for the benefit of students we will move communications to phone or email and I'll send you direct invoices instead.
If homework is assigned it will be from books being used at school to ensure a manageable load of work.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
Daniel is excellent at breaking down material in an easily digestible way. After I saw his ad on a website I was looking through for help, he responded to my attempts to contact him very quickly. The entire time, he was very communicative and would check that I was understanding everything.
With my maths teacher at school, everything was very confusing and difficult to process (especially because I have a learning disability), but Daniel was able to teach me what the teacher had tried to teach for a week in a few hours. During the process of going through the math content, he was incredibly friendly and engaging; I can't help but reiterate how easy he made everything to understand.
I would definitely recommend hiring him since he was an incredibly easy-to-understand teacher, was communicative, and was generally pleasant to speak with.View more recommendations
