About Henrique
Henrique Castro is born in São Paulo - SP.
He formally began his piano studies in 2009 with professor Tânia Araujo, and later followed guidance from pianists Juliano Kerber (EMESP) and Valdilice de Carvalho.
In 2015 he entered the Municipal School of Music of São Paulo where he began studying historical performance on the harpsichord with harpsichordist Nicolau de Figueiredo and Fernando Cordella.
He participated in several masterclasses with names such as Olivier Baumont (Paris Conservatory), Luiz Senise (UFRJ) and Fabio Luz.
Piano competition prizes include the Souza Lima Piano Competition and the Villa Lobos Conservatory Piano Competition.
In 2017 he was invited to the "Music in the Chapel" project at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie through a solo recital with works by Frescobaldi, Couperin, Scarlatti and Mozart.
Also noteworthy is the recital held by FUNDEC in Sorocaba-SP, where the focus was on works from the classical period.

I have my own methodology, focused on authorial exercises that seek to meet the specific needs of each student. Reference materials are also used as teaching support. During the cycles, repertoire pieces are proposed and covers different periods in the history of music, also considering the student's taste. Music theory is almost always taught in parallel with practical study, trying to make the student view the study as a large functional unit.

Além de ótimo pianista, é um ótimo professor. Sabe adaptar bem a método de ensino pro aluno. Identifica o ponto de partida ideal, aumenta o nível de dificuldade dos exercícios gradualmente e percebe com facilidade os pequenos erros que o aluno comete dando em seguida os macetes para corrigir. Sua calma e paciência deixa a aula muito agradável.
