About Michael

I’m a 3rd-year Computer Science student at UBC with a passion for helping students thrive academically. I’ve worked with students from elementary to high school not only in improving grades but also in building confidence, sharpening problem-solving skills, and helping students get ahead rather than just catch up.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, goal-oriented, and designed to reduce frustration while boosting results. Here’s what each session includes:

CLEAR GOAL-SETTING – We begin every session with a specific focus (exam topic, concept gap, or school prep).

TARGETED PRACTICE – I guide students through practice problems to identify strengths and areas for improvement.

CONCEPT REVIEW – Key ideas are explained in simple terms, tailored to the student’s level and pace.

CHECK FOR MASTERY – Each lesson ends with a quick review to confirm understanding and retention.

BETWEEN LESSONS, I provide DAILY QUIZ QUESTIONS (just one per day — manageable and effective) and HOMEWORK SUPPORT to reinforce learning and build confidence.

Perfect! Michael is an excellent tutor! He’s very patient and always makes sure I fully understand each question before moving on. He takes the time to explain concepts clearly and never rushes through lessons. He’s also super friendly and easy to talk to, which makes learning much more enjoyable.
