As an experienced educator with certifications in math and science and a master’s degree in education, I bring both expertise and passion to every tutoring session. I have worked with a wide range of learners—from middle and high school students to adults preparing for standardized exams—and I pride myself on creating a learning environment that is supportive, structured, and goal-oriented. My approach is rooted in clarity, patience, and high expectations. About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is student-centered and adaptive. I begin by assessing a student’s current understanding and identifying any gaps or misconceptions. I then tailor my instruction to match their learning style—whether that’s visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. I break down complex concepts into manageable parts, using analogies, real-world examples, and step-by-step explanations. I believe in building a strong foundation first, and then layering in more advanced skills once confidence is established.

To promote retention and mastery, I incorporate active recall, spaced repetition, and problem-based learning. I encourage students to think aloud, ask questions freely, and engage in reflective learning.

I primarily work with middle school and high school students (grades 6–12), as well as adults learners. I specialize in mathematics (from foundational skills through Algebra II) and general science. I also do test prep: SAT, ACT, HSPT, and others! My sessions are ideal for students who need remediation, enrichment, test prep, or simply a consistent academic support system.

I have worked in affluent areas of North Carolina, as well as lower-income urban districts. I have a B.A. in Math & Science Education as well as Masters of Education (M.Ed.).
