About Evodia

My name is Evodia and I have 4 years experience of offering etxra English lessons from preschool leaners up to Intermediate learners. I specialize in Life Skills and English, with a passion for helping kids of pre-school to intermediate to succeed in school. With my years working in the classroom, I understand the learners needs and strive to find the best approach to boosting their grades and confidence. I’m an interactive and supportive tutor, using visual aids and modern technology to ensure the learners needs are met and that their learning experience is both fun and informative.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I don't lecture to students or ask them to memorise things. Nor do I do the students' homework for them! I teach in English even though I'm fluent in other 5 South African languages.

From my lessons you can expect to recognize your individual strengths and weaknesses. I want my students to apply their strengths so that others in the class can learn from them. I want my students to be aware of their weaknesses and to make a continuous effort to improve upon those weaknesses.

My lessons are aimed at the following learning levels:
Level 1 – Cognitive Understanding.
Level 2 – Basic Competence.
Level 3 – Mastering the Basics.
Level 4 – Beyond the Basics.
Level 5 – The Mindset of Continuous Improvement.
