About Lianne

I'm Lianne, a music instructor by profession. My love for music started when I was just 4 years old. I've been singing for most of my life and always wanted to grow up to be a musician and I made my dream come true. As much as I enjoy performing, I realized that I had a greater passion to teach music and watch my talented students succeed. I also love training ensembles, and I look forward to having my own choir one day. Being a teacher has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me and I'm happy to share what I know and make music an exciting subject for everyone.

About the lesson

Growing up learning music, I never really enjoyed rigid class structures. My teaching methodology focuses on personalized instruction based on the student's age, pace, interests and goals. There are many possible goals that can be achieved through music education including giving examinations, training to perform, learning to develop a skill or as a hobby. Each case requires a tailored approach to efficiently achieve preferred goals without taking the fun out of it. My classes would involve adequate portions of techniques, a theoretical concept and practical application of what was learnt. I believe that curiosity and practice are very important to master any skill and hence would assign something interesting for you to work on to keep improving the skill in your daily life.
