I believe in meeting my students where they are. I like to do check-ins once a month to ensure that growth is being made. Depending on the age/grade of the child, I will start with phonics and word parts with the younger children and break down words with the older children. As for math, I like to work with hands-on practices rather than just paperwork. The reason I chose education is that my little brother struggled in school. My parents would have me help him with his homework, and it was always gratifying to see the growth and the changes in his learning. I believe that I can continue to make that change in students' lives. I am moving away from the traditional classroom because I believe that not all students learn best that way. Teachers are very limited in their time, and they are not able to work with each student individually to meet them where they are. That is where I come in. I want to be that extra boost that your child gets. I want to meet them where they are.
