About Sophia

Having taught and tutored for over 10 years, I am well versed in all things tutoring. From literature to language, confidence issues to concept issues I have had experience helping students face their problems and get over the line.
As a student I was lucky enough to obtain a job as an "associate"-someone who went into schools and provided students with a one-to-one learning experience that could help them thrive. I went on to help those who came to the UK with little to no English and help them integrate into the education system. Later, teaching helped me to see the world; I travelled and used teaching English as a tool to do so. Having utilised so many techniques and experienced so many curriculums, I became Head of English and History in an international secondary school. This gave me the opportunity to help write curriculums that tailored to our students needs as they would be applying to schools globally. It was here that I truly saw that the "one-size-fits-all-model" did not suit everyone and so I developed intense learning classes for those who needed it. English is applicable in every aspect of our lives and it is my passion to ensure you can unlock your potential in this subject.

About the lesson

Every student is unique and therefore every tutoring session is tailored to suit the individuals needs. Having taught using a wide variety of techniques, I have honed my techniques to ensure that every student gains their full potential. As a head of department, and having years of EFL and ESL experience across a range of countries and curriculums, I have become adaptable to what each student needs to succeed. Lessons last for 1 hour and are tailored specifically to your needs.From struggling to grasp concepts, to lacking in confidence, I am here to support you on your educational journey. Lessons are for GCSE, AS/A Level, CELTA and adult learners.
