About Kris
I am an OCT certified elementary teacher with over 20 years of experience. I also hold additional qualifications in teaching English as a Second Language. I am very familiar with the Ontario curriculum, as well as recent changes to the curriculum reflecting a more phonics-based emphasis in reading instruction.
I personally believe that the best results for tutoring happen in person and am eager to meet up with you at a local library in west Mississauga, such as Clarkson, Erin Meadows, or South Common (when reopened). However, I know that this is not realistic for all families and have the resources needed to tutor online as well.
Regretfully, I cannot tutor for current students at my regular day school.

My lessons are best suited for elementary or ESL students developing their foundational English and math skills. The initial lesson will focus on getting to know the student's goals and gathering diagnostic evidence to create a personalized plan for the student. For English reading classes, I will use an established, evidence-based phonics programme with a scope and sequence tailored to the student's needs. Writing lessons will target specific student needs such as penmanship, punctuation, spelling, grammar and logical flow of ideas.

Details
The first free lesson will be for diagnostic assessments and getting to know student (and parent) goals.
I am willing to work with small groups of up to three students with similar learning needs for an additional $20 / hr per pupil (i.e., 2 students = $60/hr, 3 students = $80 / hr).
