About Luis

I began my musical journey at the age of 8 with solfège and guitar lessons at the Conservatory of Music. I went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Music from the Cecilio Acosta Catholic University, graduating with honors (Cum Laude), and later completed a postgraduate degree in Composition. Over the years, I have dedicated myself both to performing and to music education. I taught for many years at my alma mater, where I led courses in choral arrangement and vocal technique. I also worked at Rafael Belloso Chacín University, serving as the Director of the University Choir within the Department of Culture. Currently, I run my own music academy, where I teach piano, guitar, and voice to students of all ages. Music has been the center of my life — a lifelong passion that I have devoted fully to performing, composing, and teaching.

My Approach as a Tutor
Teaching Method and Techniques: My teaching method focuses on a student-centered approach, where I tailor each lesson to the individual needs and goals of my students. I use a combination of traditional techniques and modern technology, including interactive tools and resources to enhance the learning experience. I believe in a balanced approach that includes both theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring students understand the "why" behind what they're learning.

Typical Lesson Plan: A typical lesson begins with a warm-up, where we review previously learned material. Then, we introduce new concepts or techniques, often through playing exercises or popular songs that resonate with the student. I incorporate ear training and music theory, gradually building these skills into our sessions. We conclude with a recap of what we've learned and set goals for the next lesson, making sure to keep the learning process engaging and fun.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor: What differentiates me as a tutor is my passion for music and my ability to connect with students on a personal level. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment, where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring their musical interests. My adaptability allows me to modify lessons based on individual progress, ensuring that each student receives the attention and guidance they need to thrive.

Target Audience for Classes: My classes are designed for a wide range of students, from complete beginners to advanced players. Whether you're looking to strum your first chord, improve your technique, or explore advanced music theory, my lessons can accommodate your needs. I work with students of all ages and backgrounds, including children, teenagers, and adults.
