About Kylan
As a board certified behavior analyst at the doctoral level, I follow a strict and professional ethics code and I approach all of my work with professionalism, integrity, and a duty to serve my students to the best of my ability. Although I am an expert in my field and have taught in higher education and across all levels of direct service professionals for nearly two decades, I believe all teachers should be humble and honest in stating when they do not know something. I enjoy learning WITH my students and am delighted by the opportunity and excuse to learn more! I look forward to engaging with curious and passionate students who are seeking ways to more deeply and confidently learn the material they are endeavoring to master!

My teaching method involves first learning what my students' goals are. It is important for me to discover what is motivating them to learn and grow in this field. Once I have that information, I can tailor tutoring sessions to ensure that each session builds upon itself and is helpful in addressing the students' needs. Whether it is applying real world examples to better understand course content or finding new ways to conceptualize the material to strengthen and generalize understanding, my many years of teaching are helpful in arranging the most effective and efficient plan for a student to meet their goals. What sets me apart from other tutors is my extensive experience and education (I have worked in the field for over 25 years and have held my doctoral degree, license, and certification for 16 years) and have 15 years of my career as a graduate school professor. I recommend high school students, undergraduates, and graduate students consider signing up for a tutoring session with me.
