About Cheng

I started working as an actuary since the beginning of 2004 and qualified as a life insurance actuary 5 years later in 2009. I have a very good statistical modelling experience and have extensive experience designing and delivering introductory to advance level life insurance modelling courses to clients, as well as delivering advanced excel modelling courses to colleagues, so I am experienced working with mature students. I have also tutored Year 1 university students on Financial Mathematics as well as high school students on Maths and Science in the past.

About the lesson

Maths doesn't have to be boring. With my extensive real-life working experience, I'll be able to provide interesting and intuitive real-life examples to approaching a mathematical problem. Everyone's brain is wired differently and fortunately for Maths, there are often various ways of approaching a single problem, so if an approach is not efficient in helping my student's learning, I will try explaining the same concept from a different perspective until the concept is hooked on to my student's brain.
