About Graham
I am a student at Harvard University studying Evolutionary Biology. I have tutored students in Spanish, math, science, standardized tests (ACT/SAT), and I also have experience with general college admissions advising. I am eager to share my knowledge with students, to help them achieve their full potential academically, and to assist them in becoming the most competitive college admission applicants they can be.

The central tenets of my teaching approach are: 1) school doesn't have to be hard or miserable. Everyone enjoys learning when it's presented in a low-stress fashion and when the concepts are explained clearly; and 2) the best way to learn is to think critically and apply what you're taught. Accordingly, I seek to foster a conversational environment--the student is learning for their own sake, so they shouldn't be concerned that I'm judging them or that I'll be critical should they struggle at any point. However, I also want my students to think for themselves. It is one thing to be able to solve a math problem, but another thing entirely to understand it deeply and to be able to apply the concepts to a superficially dissimilar problem. Achieving the latter is, in my opinion, a more reliable way to improve academic performance and leads to much more meaningful learning.
