About Rukhsana

Have extensive experience teaching Primary and Secondary students ESOL, EFL, English, Geography, History, Science, R.E, Art, ICT and P.E. Ensured students worked to their potential. Made sure Primary students were working at ATS or GDS level for Reading, Writing, Maths, English and Science which involved long term planning of lessons. Students were able to write effectively for range of purposes and audiences, selecting language, that showed a good awareness of the reader (e.g the use of the first person in a diary; direct address in instructions and persuasive writing). Pupils were successfully writing narratives, describing settings, characters and atmosphere, integrating dialogue to convey character and advance the action. Pupils were also able to use verb tenses consistently and a range of punctuation at key stage 2 correctly throughout their writing.

About the lesson

Working in many Secondary Schools and Colleges has helped to develop good subject knowledge of KS3 & KS4 ESOL, History, Geography, R.E, Citizenship, PSHE and what makes effective teaching in classrooms. Especially, when it comes to creating exciting resources for students and encouraging them to focus more clearly on task and take responsibility for their own learning. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build a rapport with pupils from all different ages and backgrounds. Easily, able to identify SEN and high attainers and provide clear structures for them whilst still maintaining pace, motivation and challenge in lessons. Confident and detailed planner who creates exciting and innovative lessons that enables students to achieve the best from their learning.
Consistently works calmly and professionally under pressure and driven by the passion of supporting and motivating others to achieve their goals. Is able to establish effective working relationships and set a good example through personal and professional conduct. Main aim is to ensure teaching and learning in the classroom goes above and beyond the expectations of the National Curriculum.
