About Tova

I’m a dedicated guitar teacher with over 12 years of experience helping students grow into confident, expressive musicians. With a Diploma of Music (Guitar Specialisation), I’ve guided learners through live performances, recording sessions, auditions, and even music school entry. My teaching is focused but encouraging, designed to bring out each student’s unique voice on the instrument. I place a strong emphasis on stage presence, because I believe performing is as much about connection as it is about technique. My lessons balance structured skill-building with room for creative freedom, allowing students to develop their own style while mastering core fundamentals. I cover everything from refining tone and phrasing to preparing for high-pressure moments like auditions or studio work. I love watching students transform their passion for guitar into confidence and musical excellence. Every lesson is tailored to their goals, whether they dream of rocking a stage, crafting original music, or earning a spot in a music programme. My goal is simple: to inspire, challenge, and support every guitarist I teach, helping them play with skill, emotion, and authenticity.

About the lesson

My guitar teaching approach is built on helping every student find their own unique sound while mastering the essentials. I start with strong foundations in technique, posture, and rhythm to ensure comfortable and efficient playing. From there, I introduce fingerstyle methods, showing students how to create rich textures and patterns that bring songs to life. I also teach lead guitar phrasing, focusing on bends, slides, vibrato, and timing to help students express emotion through every note. Creativity is central to my lessons, so I encourage students to explore composition and improvisation early on. Whether it’s writing their first riff or crafting a soulful solo, I provide guidance that nurtures personal expression. I love working with those who dream of playing fiery rock solos or pouring their heart into the blues, helping them channel passion into skill. My lessons include exercises that develop dexterity, tone control, and a confident stage presence. I balance structured practice with space for experimentation, so students grow technically and artistically. We break down songs step by step, then explore ways to make them their own. I also help students understand how music theory connects to the fretboard, unlocking new possibilities for creative playing. Above all, I aim to make each lesson inspiring and enjoyable, giving every guitarist the tools, mindset, and confidence to play with heart and originality.
