About Roger
I have been teaching for a while, and it’s my commitment to always make sure my students achieve their goals in guitar playing. I have taught at Pasadena City College, in the music lab, I have travelled and toured throughout the U.S.A. as a professional musician.
I incorporate basic music theory in my lessons so that my student get a general idea on how music works, ie: chords, scales, etc.
I can help my students achieve to read music thoroughly, but it’s not necessary if the student doesn’t want or need to.
I’ve help some of my students prepare for auditions at schools, if they are wanting to be part of a school ensembles.
My patience is calming and will work with my student until they understand what we are practicing.
I will have students purchase a music book which we will work from.

I analyze the students playing and see the level they are at , and work with them to become a stronger player. I incorporate theory and exercises, and homework pieces from the book and explain and go over the pieces and or exercises which they can practice at home. I’ll correct any deficiencies in technique to help them navigate the fretboard much easier.
I teach all levels and styles, I have a few students who are very interested in Classical and Flamenco. This style is and will be a bit more complex, and advise these for more intermediate players, however I can teach the basic fundamentals of these styles.
