About Mara
My passion for guitar began in my early teens, when the excitement of creating sound and emotion through music first captured my imagination. Over the past eight years of teaching, I’ve had the privilege of helping students discover the same excitement and confidence. Teaching guitar allows me to share not only musical knowledge but the joy, discipline, and creativity that music brings into daily life. Guiding students through their musical development remains one of the most meaningful and motivating parts of my career. I teach with patience, clarity, and a deep respect for each student’s learning process. I believe every musician grows uniquely, so I adapt my teaching style to align with their goals, strengths, and interests. I emphasize healthy technique, musical curiosity, and steady progress, ensuring that learners feel supported and encouraged at every stage. My lessons are grounded in positivity and thoughtful structure, helping students gain confidence in both their technical skills and musical expression. Outside teaching, I stay closely connected to music through performance, composition, and ongoing study. I constantly explore new genres and techniques to bring fresh insight to my lessons. Helping students discover their musical voice, develop strong technique, and experience pride in their growth continues to inspire my work every day.

My guitar lessons are centered on creating a warm, motivating space where students feel comfortable exploring music at their own pace. I begin each session with technique-focused warmups that strengthen hand coordination, rhythm awareness, and tone production. From there, we explore chords, scales, melodies, and songs that match the student's interests and skill level. I aim to make learning enjoyable and achievable by combining structure with creativity, helping students understand not only how to play but how to feel the music they create.
Beginners learn essential chords, rhythm patterns, simple melodies, and basic music theory. Intermediate players work on barre chords, fingerstyle, scale application, expressive phrasing, and improvisation. Advanced students focus on technical refinement, stylistic interpretation, performance readiness, advanced repertoire, and personal musical expression. Lessons include guided exercises, ear-training, music theory integration, and personalized practice routines that support consistent growth. My approach ensures students receive detailed guidance while also enjoying their musical journey.
Students experience meaningful development as they build confidence, musicality, and independence on the instrument. Over time, they learn to express themselves creatively, understand music more deeply, and play with greater ease and authenticity. Whether their goal is performance, personal enjoyment, or long-term skill building, students leave each lesson inspired, empowered, and increasingly connected to their musical identity. I aim to help each learner grow both technically and emotionally, discovering guitar as a lifelong source of creativity and fulfillment.
