About Vikash Kumar

am a Professional dancer based out of India, Jharkhand. My Specializes in Kathak dance. I belong to the long lineage of Lucknow Gharana. I have achieved the title of "GUINNESS WORLD RECORD HOLDER" for most kathak dance spins and also achieved the title of "INDIA BOOK OF RECORD". I am a disciple of Padmavibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj Ji & Saswati sen. I have obtained a Post-graduation certificate course in Kathak dance from Kalashram (A Institute of Pt. Birju Maharaj Ji) and also done my Prabhakar degree in Kathak from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad and persuing Master from Khairagarh University. I have performed in the various platform in India and abroad also both as a soloist and as a part of the guru's repertory.

I have given Kathak performances in many dance festivals in different states. Like- Khajuraho (M.P), Bihar Utsav, World culture festival, International India Classical Dance festival, Sadhna Festivals, Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, Mahakumbh ( Allahabad), Diksha: Guru Shishya Parampara organized by IGNCA, Raas Vilass by Purvai, Ganga Nrityotsava in Varanasi, Durga Rang Mahotsava for Arjun Mishra Award, Ghat-sandhya by Govt of Varanasi, etc. I have worked for Doordarshan- Delhi, DD Bharti, Bihar govt., Jharkhand govt., Delhi’s govt., IGNCPA- Delhi, ONGC- Delhi, and NDMC- Delhi. I have also performed in WCF (world culture festivals) & Vigyan Bhawan in front of Rajnath Singh (Home Minister).

I have been awarded Navodita Pratibha Samman, Guru Shiromani Samman by Vice President of Qatar, Pt. Arjun Mishra award by Pt. Anuj Mishra ji, etc. I am fortunate to get the opportunity to work with many renowned artists: Legendary Kathak maestro Padmavibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj ji, Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj ji, Saswati Sen, Guru Shikha Khare, Rachna Yadav hi, etc.

• Worked with Kalashram team Romeo & Juliet ( a Kathak ballet) under the choreography of Pt.

I am Also worked with Arvind Singh who is a Director. I have choreographed many dance sequence in his play like - 80 Baheria, Seedhiyan, Devdas, etc.
