Hello, my name is Guillaume and I have been tutoring privately for over 5 years. I am half-French and half-English and have completed most of my studies here in London.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach French to students from the ages of 5 upwards, including GCSEs, A-Levels and beyond, as well as teaching English and Maths to students from 5 up to 11+.
- Tell me about your qualifications. I was born in France, but due to my father's profession, lived in Poland, Germany and Singapore and went to French international schools in these countries. I have a Baccalauréat in Economics and Social Sciences from the Académie de Versailles, as well as a diploma from Central Saint Martins and also trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) on the 3 year BA (Hons) degree in Professional Acting.
- How much do you charge?
£50 per hour.
- Where do you teach?
I am based in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, usually tutoring in West London, although please feel free to contact me regardless of your location to see whether we can come to an arrangement. I am happy to teach over Zoom for those living too far to travel to, or outside of London.
- When are you available? Please contact me with regards to this as I currently have students who have lessons booked in for fixed times during the week.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am happy to teach from 5 - adult, depending on the subject.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I can prepare students for all French related UK exams (13+, GCSE, A levels, Cambridge Pre-U). I teach English and Maths up to 11+ exams. I also teach Drama School audition technique.
- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
We simply come to an agreement on a good time to book in for, and continue from where we left off in the last lesson. It is, quite often, useful and more interesting to make use of the student's surroundings, using your holiday location as inspiration for creative or descriptive writing tasks.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
I want my students to feel at ease and relaxed about the sessions. I am here to help them achieve the best they can and offer an approachable, patient and friendly style. I always plan my lessons according to each specific student I have, follow a plan and focus on their weaknesses and try to enthuse them with the subject in a fun and interactive way. I do expect my students to focus and work hard during the sessions and to do their homework. I want to help my students grow in confidence and knowledge and get them to discover concepts and answers on their own.

Perfect! My son did his GCSEs during the CoViD period - Oct 2020 to Jun 22
Although very capable, he never had the disposition of the natural academic who would be engrossed and engaged with passion in their studies. Coupled with a lack of self discipline and prone to getting distracted, studying from home for the entire year 10, took a devastating toll on his academic perfomance. The results of the early asessments into Year 11 made it absolutely clear the situation was particularly bleak with where he would struggle to even pass in French
After coming across Guillaume's profile on Superprof, I contacted him in December 2021. He had a very open conversation with me get a holistic picture about my son - understanding of his character and nature, aptitude and struggles. He asked about my expectations from the lessons and then managed them realitically. He made it quite clear that I shall have an equally pivotal role to play in the upcoming months to ensure that my son is disciplined and and applies himself as required
Onc the lessons started and Guillame had a better feel of the effort required, he guided me on how best and how often to plan for lessons. He was extremely accomodating in making himeself available during especially around the holiday periods to enure that the momentum was not lost and the ground was covered
It is a testament to Guillame's style of teaching that, despite the fact my son never before had much passion for French language, he found Guillame's lessons to very engaging which made them so receptive and effective for him
As difficult as it is to get blood out of a stone, I managed to get the following feedback from my son about Nicolas
- Thoroughly engaging
- Excellent way of teaching grammar rules and tenses in way that is easily understood
At the end of his GCSEs my son attained a 5 in French language - a wonderful result in just over four months for someone who was drifting and needed some clear direction, discipline and engagement to bring them back on track - a testament to Guillaume and his thorough professionalism- See the response Guillaume :
His commitment and dedication to improving his language skills have been evident throughout his journey.
Areeb's accomplishments reflect his steady effort and growing competence in French.
Perfect! The best French tutor you can find!

Guillaume is a highly-regarded tutor. As such, when I am on maternity leave, I do not hesitate to recommend him to my students. A great example of this was when he helped a previous pupil of mine who was studying French at University Level. I would not have entrusted him with this unless I knew he was the top man for the job. Guillaume really helped me reengage with a language I had learned only during my school days. At the end of the each session, I felt a huge boost in confidence in my conversational French, and have gained a logical understanding of grammar that I can apply going forward.
