About David
Greetings, My name is David and I love to play and teach pool and do both very well. I only teach in person because I believe it to be the best way, plus I get to play too. A big part of your learning process is not just learning how to make shots but becoming a shape player. A shape player is one who thinks not only at the shot at hand, but what’s next and how to hit the one at hand to get near that place you need to be to make the following ball and so forth to the money ball. To become a shape player, you must understand spin and speed. That is why I use a measles cue ball, it clearly shows the spin, and speed so that you can more easily see why we get the desired result. Have been the coach on numerous winning APA and NAPA teams over the last 15 years. Just a few of the things you will learn are proper bridge, how to take care of the cue ball and avoid scratches, getting shape, playing safety, etiquette, cue maintenance, jump and masse shots, how to plan your table run, and adjust when things go awry. I live in a high-rise apartment near South Coast Plaza and we have an 8-foot table here which is where I prefer to teach, it’s a quiet atmosphere where we can focus without the noise and distractions of a bar. If you want your lessons somewhere else, we can discuss them. About David D. I have been playing pool near 50 years now and have achieved a skill level 7 in the APA and won just about everything. Helped take my team to the nationals in Las Vegas and won there. Won the Top Shooter tournament in APA High Tier bracket in 8 ball on a Saturday and came back and won it in 9 ball on Sunday. If check out photos and click on images you will see me holding the cash and cue cases I won, in both images the guy on my left is the 2nd place finisher, he is holding cash but not a case. Have been the coach on numerous winning APA and NAPA teams over the last 15 years.

Perfect! I’m a beginner and David helped me so much. He can teach any level but I highly recommend going to him! I have a better feel for the game in just one session. He’s very patient, knowledgeable, responsive and just a cool guy!

After just a few try's she was lagging like a pro, and this after not even knowing what a lag is.
Despite being a beginner she is beginning to understand Speed and Spin and was able to play 8 ball position with the 8 in three different locations, while the position on the table of the cue and ball before the 8 remained unchanged.
I look forward to working with her and watching her blossom into an accomplished player.
Perfect! Very patient, did a good job explaining some of the things I was doing wrong, and how to correct it. Gave good drills for dealing with the things I needed to work on.

David is a very cool dude. He has awesome pool playing skills and he was always great at coaching my teammates and I on time outs. He would share his knowledge on the best way to approach a shot. He loves the game of pool and he helped us become # 1 in our league. Thanks David!
I know David from taking previous pool lessons. His setup is great because it's private, easy to find, and spacious. He is patient and concentrates on the student the entire time. If anyone is looking to improve their game, regardless of their skill level, David is the teacher you are hoping to find.
I really benefited from my lesson with David. He is an awesome player and instructor. He is very kind and patient and does an excellent job of conveying his knowledge.
I have always enjoyed playing pool. To be honest even though I have played many years my skill level has not progressed above a beginner’s, I would miss as many shots as I made. But fortunately while practicing one evening David Dugally came over and asked if I would like to play a game of eight ball. Once I started receiving coaching from David my understanding and approach to pool improved. Mr. Dugally introduced and coached me in the approach used by the great shape pool players. I would highly recommend David D.’s training for all, no matter your level of play because he loves the game and generously shares his pool knowledge. You will win more eight ball, nine ball or straight pool games. Mr. Dugally will teach you techniques that will allow you to run ball after ball. Because he teaches you how to make your shot with the right spin to position the cue ball so your next shot is an easy shot (or very importantly) the cue ball is positioned where your opponent has a difficult shot if your likely to miss.
