About Maria
I am a polylingual London medical student with a specialist interest in modern foreign languages I speak Greek, Spanish and French very confidently so am happy to tutor any of these at GCSE level or below (my first language is English). I have lived in Spain as well as France and have tutored both to GCSE students before and they have achieved high grades.As I’m a medical student I’m also happy tutoring GCSE biology or chemistry as these are my true passion and I find I’m easy to engage with younger people as I’m a similar age and they can relate more to me than someone older. With respect to tutoring my method is find out the exam board, teach myself their course (which I should already know most of) then in a comprehensive fun way tutor my student to an A/A* grade. I have previously learnt if a child is not engaged by a subject they will not want to learn, hence why I look for more enjoyable ways to allow them to learn such as flash card games that I can set up for them on quizlet and depending on the subject, quickfire question practice. I am also happy to help any student needing advice about applying to medicine at university, having been through the process myself and come out with multiple offers from top UK unis.

My teaching method is a blended approach of methods including quizzes, quickfire vocabulary tests, speaking Greek as much as possible, accent perfection and other fun ways of learning. Greek can be difficult to learn so I begin with the alphabet then the student and I go from there
