About Miara
I am a senior at Ursinus College (a four-year, liberal arts institute) in the English and Creative Writing department. I have been a tutor at my school for freshmen and sophomore college students over the past two years. I love working with students and want to continue to do so after I graduate in two months. I have presented my own papers and creative work at college achievement events, I have been published in journals (both academic and creative), and I have kept a high GPA and academic standing throughout my time at college. While these are aspects of myself I am proud of, I would not have accomplished these achievements without a well-rounded support system from family, friends, and my school. I know many students do not have the same opportunities and privilege of such a support system, especially from their school, and I want to help provide more support for students in that way.

I understand how intimidating and frustrating writing a paper, analyzing literature, and coming up with creative ideas can be. It’s my goal to help students make these tasks easier, less stressful, and perhaps even fun!
I believe in teaching the way that students learn, that is to say, it’s my responsibility to figure out what areas you need the most support and attention on. I will be as hands-on as you need and my priority is to provide a support system of learning.
I am a tutor who will not judge or criticize your level of knowledge or understanding, and I will try my best to always be patient and kind.
