About Maya
Holder of a Master's degree in Cognitive Science, also known as "Cogmaster" (excellent training provided by ENS, Université Paris-Descartes and EHESS), as well as a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Philosophy, French Literature and Applied Statistics from the Faculty of Science at the University of Cape Town. I am driven by a curiosity to learn and I have extremely interdisceplenary interests. Being of South African origin, my mother tongue is English and I have a C1 level of French.
My career has been enriched by extended internships (from 4 to 9 months) in prestigious institutions in cognitive linguistics such as the CNRS, the Jean Nicod Institute - a laboratory at the ENS.
Alongside my studies, I have always been a private tutor. I have given private mathematics lessons to young people aged 11 to 18 and I have led science and mathematics classes in secondary schools.
My passion for human psychology and education translates into my desire to teach and share my knowledge with other students as well as high school students.
My skills in cognitive science allow me to apply the most recent discoveries to an enriching pedagogical approach (such as the functioning of memory, or the application of cognitive science to education, among others).
My goal is to transmit the essential knowledge and methods to understand the course and obtain excellent results, while sharing my enthusiasm for mathematics and languages!

First of all, I think it is important to review the key concepts of the course, ensuring that you first need to understand them in order to be able to learn them.
I then create with the student personalized files concerning each chapter of his course and practical exercises in order to eventually lead to the preparation of an exam. In this way, the student can also gradually gain autonomy with the subject.
All in a good mood and adapting to the pace and level of each person!
