About Tatiana

My name is Tatiana Andre and I'm 26 years old. I have sung since my nine years old and did my first performance at eleven. When I was eighteen I decided to further my education in music and that's when I started Rockschool Music in a music academy while I was in Portugal, my home country. I had mainly vocal technique lessons, theory music and ensemble lessons in those years, but I also had piano and guitar lessons - though basic level. Since 2017, I have had an original project 'The Lunar Souls' and I gained experience performing live in different styles of music - Rock, Soul, Pop, Jazz, Brazilian, Folk... From 2019 to 2022, me and Miguel Carepa worked together in composing and producing our debut album called "9" with nine original compositions. I started my degree in jazz music in the UK in 2019-2023 and from February this year I have one more lead project called 'Take Four' where I sing mainly jazz standards and Brazilian tunes. I received also a jazz prize award from Middlesex University along with my graduation this year. Since the beginning of this year, I have given regular vocal lessons online and in one-to-one from an online music academy called Blue Note Music School. With this experience, I found teaching a great challenge where communication and awareness are needed on many different levels. I tend to support them by listening to their needs and passing knowledge that I gained through my experience and also with my individual sense on how to guide people to perform confidently. I am passionate about music, and because I see music as life, it's totally worth to be able to support each one’s challenges. I want to be part of a learning community where everyone feels safe to learn and grow together. I want to be part of a space where everyone has their own way of expressing themselves with harmony.

About the lesson

The typical length of a lesson is one hour. I started in February 2023 to teach 1:1 vocal techniques mainly to children online, but I have also experience with teaching adults of different ages. I graduated this year in jazz music at Middlesex University and my teaching methodology is a mix of all the knowledge I have gained so far from different vocal teachers. I tend to start with body, breath and then vocal exercises and the first half of the class is mainly doing that and explaining how voice works. Then in the second half, the lesson is focused on a song chosen by the student and here I help by giving vocal tips and techniques that will develop your vocal sound.
