What should you know about online journalism? How can you use different platforms to earn some extra income by working independently and using your skills as a journalist? For example, I’ve created a YouTube channel that currently has 12,000 subscribers and a Facebook page with 8,000 followers. These platforms are powerful if you know how to use them the right way. You can take advantage of your journalism experience and combine it with various tools like Adobe Premiere, CapCut, Filmora, Canva, and others to create quality content. Use YouTube to share news stories, analyses, or documentaries. Focus on storytelling, strong visuals, and titles that grab attention. On Facebook, share short videos, articles, or breaking news — and build a loyal audience that you can later monetize. Canva helps you create professional thumbnails, posts, and visuals without needing graphic design skills. CapCut, Filmora, and Adobe Premiere allow you to edit videos quickly and professionally, making your content more engaging. WordPress is a great way to run your own website or blog and keep full control of your work and branding. If you’re consistent, smart, and creative — online journalism can become more than just a job. It can be more than a business!
