Samirbek Rashidov is an engineering student at the University of Edinburgh, ranked among the top 20 universities globally. Born in a developing country where mathematics and physics are considered essential subjects from childhood, I have a strong passion for these fields, winning multiple international and local competitions such as StemCo, Smart Kangaroo, and SASMO. Samirbek excelled in the IB Diploma Programme, achieving outstanding grades of 6/7 (equivalent to an A in UK grading) in Mathematics and Physics. With over two years of tutoring experience, I teach both personal and group sessions for IB, GCSE and A-Level students. Having studied in schools with syllabi similar to Russian and Singaporean education before transitioning to the IB system, I am open-minded to diverse teaching styles and cultural backgrounds. Here are some key elements of my approach: - Diagnostic Teaching: I begin by identifying the student's current understanding and any challenges they face in the subject matter. - Step-by-Step Guidance: I break down complex topics into manageable segments and use real-life examples or visual aids to simplify abstract concepts. - Interactive Problem-Solving: During lessons, I encourage students to solve problems themselves, providing hints and guidance only when needed. This promotes independent thinking and builds confidence. - Addressing Struggles: When a student finds a topic difficult, we engage in a thoughtful discussion to pinpoint the issue.
