About Shuvesh
I take tutoring seriously and always come prepared to help students succeed. As someone who has taken challenging AP and honors courses, I understand both the material and the common obstacles students face. I’m patient, reliable, and committed to creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. My goal is to build both understanding and confidence, so every student leaves a session feeling more prepared than when they arrived.

I am Shuvesh Mahto and graduated South Torrance High School with a 4.6 GPA. This fall I will be attending UCSD as a Business economics major. I’ve always had a passion for teaching. I believe real understanding isn’t measured by how well you score on a test. It’s measured by how well you can explain a concept to someone else and help them succeed. One of my biggest strengths is breaking down difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps. I enjoy adapting my explanations to fit different learning styles, whether that means using analogies, diagrams, or working through problems step by step. I’ve already put these skills into practice by leading review sessions for my AP Chemistry lab group before the AP exam. We identified weak areas, worked through practice problems together, and built confidence as our understanding improved. Teaching others also strengthened my own understanding of the material. I would be a strong tutor because I’m patient, adaptable, and genuinely invested in helping others learn. My goal isn’t just to help students get the right answer. I want them to understand the concepts well enough to solve problems on their own and leave each session feeling more confident than when they arrived.
