About Níosa

I am currently studying Biological and Geographical Sciences at Maynooth University, having achieved 545 points in my Leaving Certificate, including a H1 in Biology and a H1 in Geography. I have a strong academic background in both subjects and a clear understanding of what is required to achieve top grades.

Having completed the Leaving Certificate recently, I am very familiar with the current syllabus, exam structure, and marking schemes. I understand the common challenges students face and how to overcome them effectively.

I am organized, patient, and professional in my approach to tutoring. I take preparation seriously and aim to create structured, focused lessons that help students feel confident and capable in their abilities.

My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to build understanding, confidence, and strong exam technique in every student I work with.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is structured, supportive and strongly exam-focused. I achieved a H1 in Leaving Cert Biology and a H1 in Geography, and I am now studying Biological and Geographical Sciences in Maynooth University. This gives me both a strong academic foundation and up-to-date knowledge of the current syllabus and marking schemes.

Teaching Method & Techniques

My teaching focuses on helping students fully understand topics and then apply that knowledge effectively in exam questions.

In lessons, I:

Break down complex topics into clear, simple explanations

Use past exam questions to reinforce learning

Teach students how to structure answers for maximum marks

Focus on key words and marking scheme requirements

Identify weak areas and improve them step-by-step

I emphasise exam technique just as much as content, as understanding how marks are awarded is essential for achieving top grades.

Typical Lesson Length

Lessons are typically 60 minutes. Longer 90-minute revision sessions are available before mocks or final exams if needed.
