About Anisa
Hi! I'm Anisa. I graduated from Hunter College with a bachelor's degree with honors in Biological Sciences, and I’m currently pursuing my master’s in Biology at NYU. Over the past year, I’ve been tutoring high school and college students, particularly in STEM subjects. As a pre-medical student, I understand the prerequisites for medical school and recognize the importance of excelling in these courses. I know that classes and exams can be daunting, but through my tutoring sessions and tailored practice plans, I help students build confidence and achieve success.

I have tutored high school and college students at varying levels in algebra, geometry, biology, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. I focus on strengthening students' weaknesses by first completing problems on various topics to assess their level. I break down each question with the student to ensure understanding of the concepts and, in addition to explaining the correct answer, I clarify why other options are wrong.
I emphasize consistent practice, utilizing my own question banks and previously administered standardized exams, such as the Regents. I assign take-home problems and am always available for questions regarding assignments, explanations, and academic help. I also use active recall, consistently revisiting previously weak conceptual areas to ensure understanding and reinforce memory.
Most importantly, I make sure to keep all students optimistic and encourage a growth mindset.
