About Moses

I'm a dedicated educator with a passion for helping students succeed. Currently, I teach ELA at both the middle and high school levels, and I'm pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching with a specialization in ESL (P-12). My multilingual background allows me to support English language learners at all proficiency levels, and I excel at adapting my teaching to meet each student's unique needs. Beyond the classroom, I bring extensive mentoring experience from my work as an Assistant Coach for collegiate soccer and as the founder of Hornbill Academy LLC, a private soccer training club dedicated to bridging opportunity gaps for youth. I'm committed to creating personalized learning experiences that help students not just achieve academically, but grow as confident, capable individuals. I hold Dean's List honors from Berea College and multiple professional certifications. Most importantly, I'm driven by a genuine commitment to equity and access—I believe every student deserves quality education and the opportunity to reach their potential. About the lesson

Hi! My name is Moses Lian. I know what it feels like to learn a new language because I have been through the ESL education system. I understand the challenges, the frustrations, and the small victories that come with learning English as a second language—and I use that experience to guide my students with patience, empathy, and effective strategies.

With over 3 years of teaching experience, I specialize in helping English Language Learners improve reading, writing, speaking, and confidence in school. I focus on making learning clear, practical, and fun, so students feel successful every step of the way.

I am also a passionate soccer coach, which means I bring energy, motivation, and teamwork skills into my tutoring. Just like on the field, I encourage students to set goals, work hard, and celebrate every achievement.

With me as your tutor, students don’t just learn English—they grow, gain confidence, and discover their potential. I know what it takes because I’ve been there myself.
