About David

As much as I strive to become the best academic researcher, I also strive to become the best teacher. I am known for being committed to help students to understand valuable academic experiences and to develop fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in advance education. I enjoy interacting with students and my experience in teaching gave me a great pride when students benefited from my teaching. I do not just wish to teach to help them to earn their credit hours or earned letter grades. I wish that their experience with me will expose me to new ways of thinking and understand how the world operates. It would be my great pleasure to teach a variety of academic subjects, because I firmly believe that teaching experiences always benefit both students and teachers.

About the lesson

First, I have taught Algebra for middle school students (6-8) Graders in variety of classroom settings and environments. The size of classrooms ranged from tutoring one-on-one session to teaching 5 to 7 students. I also have experience of teaching entire classrooms, consisting of 10 to 15 students. I can also teach both in-class setting and on-line setting. When I taught through on-line during the COVID-19, I used variety of online tools, such as Padlet and Jamboard, to help students adapt to effective learning process through visualization.

Second, I spent one year worked as a peer-mentor at Northern Virginia Community College, tutoring a variety of academic subjects for multiple groups of disability students. I have tutored basic mathematical skills, which are prerequisite for advancing to college-level math. With my help, one of my students was able to advance from 6th grade level to Pre-Calculus in just three semesters. I also worked with a student with the Autism Spectrum. I taught math for business economics, and he was able to pass and transfer to VCU.

Finally, I currently have more than one year of experience in online tutoring. I am currently teaching College and Graduate level of economics and middle school math. I received several 5-star reviews, and some of them extended our class up to an entire semester or even a year. I have developed my specialty in helping students to understand fundamental concepts in academic subjects, provide a variety of practice problems, and how to prepare for important exams.
